  • Fancy a DS3 ancestor?

For those of a certain age, you will remember the Lotus Sunbeam(PSA owned) hot hatch. Well an unregistered one is being auctioned off with only 193 miles on the clock!
Oh yeah, 150bhp 0-60 in 7.5 seconds, this was seriously quick in 1980!

      Wow 193 miles.

Fitted with the 2.2-litre version of the Lotus 16-valve four-cylinder twin cam. Would place a bid but don't like left hand drive lol

My mate had a bright orange Sunbeam Ti (like that without the Lotus engine) and that always felt v fast (only 100bhp but for a second car when your 18 years old it was lethal) !!

I remember the seats vividly lol

Did you know with the Delorean DMC-12, changes to the original concept led to considerable schedule pressures. The car was deemed to require almost complete re-engineering, which was turned over to engineer Colin Chapman, founder of Lotus. Lotus replaced most of the unproven material and manufacturing techniques with those then employed by Lotus in the Esprit.
