rejecting a car

do I have the right to reject my ds3?? getting a bit bored of these problems being 1 after another now

my car is 4 years old.. had it about 6months.. had a used car warranty with it of 12 months so I have 6 left..

am I able to reject it on a used car deal?? if so how do I go about it??

From a legal perspective under the sale of goods act 1979 you could reject it though it could be very difficult to do. Because it's 4 years old it can be forseeable that these problems with the car arose under wear and tear. Although you can state that the car is not fit for purpose as there continues to be fault after fault which to an extent, could endanger your life as well as other road users and pedestrians (as you said you had problems with headlights and airbag lights). Just make sure that you don't do anything to try and fix the problem. If citroen see that there may be signs of parts being removed and re-fitted they could accuse you of causing the fault yourself. Ideally, take it to citroen and get it fixed under warranty or go to a specialist engineer who may be able to diagnose the problem for you.

Thanks euan.. any help helps no matter how big or small... Put battery back on it went crazy aging for 10secs.. then nothing but I just ain't got no confidence to leave it on while I'm sat in house or while I park up and go in shops I'm worried if I leave it on I'm going come.out wipers going nuts headlights going and it's on fire or somthing.. don't even want to drive it incase an electric problem goes tits up and catches fire while I'm driving.. lost all hope for this car now

The fact that the car is over 3 years old means Citroen have no need to respond to anything as they dont know what the cars been through for the last 3+ years. Could have been submerged in water for a few days for all they know, creating havoc with the electrics, and anything else

Your hope lies with the dealer that sold it to you, but usually they would only help up to a max of the 3rd month you bought it from them. Some laws on that I believe

But as in car auctions- its usually sold as seen, thats why the test drive

If you have the warranty, would take (Free) legal advice on how you can get out of it. Look at your car insurance too.

Any other resolutions swerve over to the wrong side of the law.....

Finance yes.... Even if they fix it I will embed have confidence in it.. I'd be sat waiting for the next problem as it seems I get car back and few days later it's in for another... So hoping I can use the not fit line

The warranty that you have on your car is it a Citroen Select Approved used warranty? If yes, on the back of the warranty they gave you there is a number a number you can call for complaint.

The big question is who did you have the car off ????... After you had the car when did the problems start ????.... Have you given the dealer chance to fix the issues ????....
