I have just changed my car from an astra 2.0 cdti sri to a d3s dsport plus 115 diesel , on line changes and no charge but guess it was due to a lower insurance group ans only having 1 1/2 months of the policy to run, will have to see if i get an admin charge when i put my private plate on the ds3

I'm with Admiral on a multi car policy as I already have 2 cars. I rang them to add my new Ds3 and they wanted an extra £90 for effectively 2 months cover on my new car which will take me to the end of May which is my renewal date. I went ahead with it as I wanted to drive my car home from dealership. After having my car 2 weeks I decided to ring them as £90 seemed a bit steep just for 1 car. I told the agent I'm going to shop around for a better deal, this resulted in her knocking £36 off the price which is much better. It's annoying it takes a phone call threatening to cancel to get the best price.

You must shop around and then ring them as they may come down in price.

I do that with everything, I change gas/electricity suppliers constantly as I do mobile phone, internet, landline, insurance etc.
