  • Newbie Buying Car Tomorrow

    Hi All,

New on here and wondered if there was a buying guide or things to watch out for, picking up my DS3 tomorrow, mid 2012 DStyle HDi and really looking forward to it, my first new car in 12 years!

Any advice on things to watch out for would be warmly received.

    Welcome to the club!

Engine wise, that's one of the most reliable ones so there's not a lot to look for there. Have a check around the centre caps of the wheels for any corrosion or damage, and also check the exhaust bracket as they are prone to corroding.

Other than that, enjoy the car and post some pics when you've got it .

Thanks for the replies, two of the alloys are kerbed :-( would you suggest this is haggling territory?

It would depend how bad they were. Are they bellones or asheras? If they are bellones then I would say yes, simply because they are diamond cut and more expensive to fix.

If you are buying from a dealer then get them to do the refurbishment .I had 2 damaged bellones and the dealer wasn't getting my money till they were sorted

I would get them to sort it too. At the end of the day you're the customer

You might have a bit of trouble as I take it you have already signed an order form agreeing to the sell of the car. Things like this should have been agreed before you put pen to paper.

Anyway what you should be checking is that all the paperwork is correct and in order, Warranty forms, Citroen Select (if applicable), FCA documentation, Green Slip from V5C and etc.
