I'd like one of the candidates in my area to actually come to my door and tell me about their policies..... I don't think that's going to happen though....

          How're you voting Liam ?

            Green Party all the way.

I don't stand by some of their policies but a large portion of them ring home. It's obvious the green's aren't going to get a majority vote but hopefully we can win them enough seats that they'll be able to ask the questions other MP's are afraid to ask in the houses.

The Greens are one of the most radical thinking groups in my opinion, have a look here for example: http://policy.greenparty.org.uk/du.html

I'll be tactical voting to keep the SNP out.

Had a read of that link, for me some of the ideas do make sense but I feel that they would either be unsustainable or would cause more issues than they would solve.

But that said this tends to be the same with every party, it's a case of working out which balance suits you as a voter.

The Greens do have some good policies but if you look at the one council where they have a majority it is in chaos.

Nobody's perfect, I'd much rather back a party that's willing to speak out about issues that other brush under the carpet though.

What's the point in a change if there's no change?

Im not getting involved with stating personal preferences, im in a job where some subjects are best avoided. However am I unique in that the outcome i think would best suit my personal circumstances is not the same as that i think best for the country.

Political uncertainty has helped to push the $/£ rate in my favour (im paid in USD).
A stable economy is killing my savings (3% is the best I can get unless im willing to gamble)
I have no mortgage or loans so interest rates currently work against me
My job and that of my wife are not dependant on the strength of the UK economy (there will always be bad guys for both of us to deal with).

Personally, if there is a slot in my team and im looking at CVs, I concentrate on what people have achieved (checked via the old boy network) rather than what they say or what is on their CV.

For those that think being nice and sending aid will rid the world of extremism, please come and visit the places I work in, please speak to those that live there, please put such policies to them.

There are some people that for whatever reason, will accept nothing other than forcing their ways on others, they are willing to cut the arms and legs off children, to rape and mutilate women and to behead old people, the world isn't fluffy and it wont be as long as the human race populates it, we are all savages but some are more savage than others.

For those that cant be bothered to vote, this image will be forever ingrained in my mind. In 2009 in Char e Anjir, a small village in Nadi Ali district of Helmand Province, during a battle to keep insurgents from taking the polling station, I watched an old lady dart across a makeshift football pitch dodging bullets just so she could dip her finger in the ink, she was the oldest looking person I had ever seen and it was the first time she had been able to vote.
When I explain to my Afghan colleagues at work that many people cant be bothered to vote, they all recite the same passage, "Freedom has a bland taste to those that have not fought for it".

I'm in favour of the Prime Directive (as in Star Trek) The more we interfere the worse it gets and the longer it goes on and the more deaths there are!
Stay out of the Middle East all together - (yes I know I am a couple of centuries late on this one).

Look at all the refugees this has created. If Britain was on the brink of civil war what would you do! Would you stay and fight for your country or go to another country and expect to be looked after?
Personally I would stay and fight.
