This lone rad takes it feed from a rad in the kitchen, il post pics later as to the set up, also as this is a very modern house and my last place was about 85 years old the heating system varies massively, ie i now had no header tank and a cupboard full of various cylinders all with nobs on.

Possibly an airlock in the system. I had one radiator a few years back that done this. Engineer had to loosen the part where the valve meets the radiator. once that was done water started flowing. the other thing is sometimes a Thermostat will fail to open even in the open position. replacing it with a new valve should fix it.

The only other things that it could be is the Radiator itself has a blockage in the Veins stopping flow or your Pump is not strong enough for the Heating system or is failing. btw is your system a pressurised system?

I know that all the radiators in the house need to be "Balanced" ,not sure if that is the right word. Using different restrictors in the radiator at the thermostat valve so all of them flow and heat up the same. If the one in question was added later could be that all the flow is going toward the kitchen? Am I making any sense? Really stretching my knowledge here.Last edited by cyclone; 02-03-2016, 15:29.Originally posted by cyclone
It is in the handbook. Satisfied.

@Cyclone, yes a central heating system needs to be balanced, i did this in my old place and it made a huge difference but this is different, there isnt a steady drop in rad temps, the rad earlier in the loop is only 10 feet away and absolutely redders.
I think the fact this cold rad is an add on as its in the conservatory, it also feeds from the previous rad using a T-pieces, im thinking that as the heating works in a loop and therefore the water must flow around the loop is directional (DC rather than AC) could it be possible that this rad is being fed from both ends rather than fed from one end and removed from the other.

Ok, had an expert opinion.
All the rads use that small diameter pipe which struggles with flow pressure over distance (so im told), the conservatory rad is a fair distance from the rad it feeds from so all of this means that there is insignificant pressure in the system to feed the last rad. Tomorrow morning il close all the rads and balance the system, this worked well in the old house so may work here although there are more rads here and the loop has more ground to cover.
Also the system pressure was a tad low which ive now bumped up to 1.5 bar.

can you turn up the feed pump? lots of them have an adjustment I had to do that when added radiators and 1.5? standard here in Germany is 2 bar.Last edited by cyclone; 02-03-2016, 17:54.Originally posted by cyclone
