  • Front spring

    Morning all.
    Mate of mine got a problem with o/s/f spring.....its snapped!
    Anybody got any experience with em??
    Or appreciate any help thanks.

    Experience: It seems to be a common thing. My osr went, plenty of people have experienced at least one coil snapping. Prices seem to vary greatly depending on where you get it done. My local garage fixed it for £70 inc labour, but heard some people paying £200+. If you're pretty handy, then get the parts online and switch it yourself, will be much cheaper. As for driveability, can still drive, but front is worse than rear since you may find the max steering angle without rubbing is less. Best get it sorted sooner though.

      Hes not driving it now,using sons car so car parked up.
      Will there be a "how to" on site for a diy job??

        Had a quick look in the Guides section, and nothing there. I reckon if you can find a guide for fitting coilovers it will work. Instead of adding a coilover you just reverse the disassembly instructions to fit the new spring.
