What gadget cant you live without......?

.....and which gadget could you do without?

There are so many gadgets in our lives and it got me thinking would our lives be any worse without them? How on earth could we live today without washing machines, TV's, radios and even camcorders, but I'm sure we could live without the vast amount of kitchen gadgets such as bread makers and juicers. Our cars would, I think, be all the poorer without ipod connection and other in car entertainment features. My parents said back in the early 80's that heated rear windscreens were optional extras as well as the cassette player!

For me the gadget(s) I couldn't live without is my MacBook Pro as I run a small business with it and also the mobile phone. The gadget I could least do without is most definitely the Amazon Kindle. Amazon relentlessly market this device as if it were an essential as in the USA, but its downloads in the UK are either too expensive or non existent. I wasted £109 on it after falling for their hype!

I absolutely love my Kindle!! The books are about the same price as they would be in the shops, and there's always some bargain free or 1p books

Blimey, your parents were spoilt if all they lacked in their car was a heated rear window and cassete player. When I started driving heaters and radios were optional extras. I built my first car radio (a Heathkit). Heaters were aftermarket and used the battery supply. I thought 8-track tape was the dog's bollocks when I installed it in my Frogeye Sprite.

Forgot to mention that I used to get up at 4 am and walk 20 miles to work in driving sleet and then worked a 22 hour day for 10 shillings a week .......... - no, not really - tht was my grandad.

I couldn't do without a computer in some capacity - i use it for gaming, working, watching tv, listening to music - basically if i'm at home or in work i'm on the PC

Gadget i could do without - personally i don't really need my mobile phone (especially since everyone's on facebook so i can get that from my PC)
Gadget the world could do without - iPad, it's just an oversized iPhone, without the phone! - You can buy more powerful netbooks for half the price.

P.S. on eBooks - the technology is at least 10 years old and they're far too expensive.
