Does anyone else think it unfair that students from Scotland or anywhere in Europe can go to university in Scotland with no fees but English students will have to pay the full fees?
So don't boycott Scotland - boycott England instead, for implementing a tuition fees policy that makes university education the privilege of the wealthy, just like it was in the 19th century.
Scotland politicians are buying independance with free tuition and free prescriptions, however, it is the Barnett Formula that is also to blame as the rest of the UK subsidies Scotland. By the way, England university is free until you earn over £21K per year with a pay back of around £6 per week. Not exactly the most expensive way of getting a good career.
That's only on the latest fee changes I think. I started university the year it went upto £3000 fees, I not pay back about £70 a month. Not a large amount I admit, however presuming I get no pay rises ever it will take me 17 years to pay my whole loan back! (To be fair half of which was maintenance not fees)
I agree it is not easy Mr PB, but I bet in the long run you will be better off. Scotland will end up paying uni fees without any doubt, the SNP are playing a long political game, which, if it succeeds, will cost the Scots like it is costing Greece.
