  • e-petition formula 1

    Guys,
I am sure the racy DS3 owners have many F1 fans amongst us and are dismayed at the recent BBC/SKY debacle. There is a move to highlight this issue through the e petition facility at this website. http://epetions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/57 If you enjoy F1 and want it to remain free to air please can you help with the numbers - Thanks muchly

As much as I love F1 and as much as I love watching it on free-to-air TV, all the petitions in the world aren't going to change the fact that Sky has snaffled the rights to show all the races.

Most, if not all, of the sport related petitions have been rejected already anyway: http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/peti...state=rejected

Mixin, you are wrong. The e petition website only rejects duplicate petitions that appear to replicate. It is to avoid multiple petitions on the same subject. Number 57 is live.

Ah my mistake then. The link you provided points to nowhere and for some reason the search on the site was temporarily not returning any results for me.

I'm getting all sorts of errors and security problems with that site. Even if you do manage to get enough signatures on the petition, they'll probably lose them in a server crash or something.

Though technically BBC isn't free-to-air since the TV licence fee pays for it.

Honestly i'm disappointed, mainly due to BBC not having advert breaks, however being a long term subscriber of Sky and the majority of its channels including sport i'm not too bothered. I survived for years watching F1 on ITV with ad breaks, shouldn't take too long to get used to it again.

Just hope they pick a good quality commentary team otherwise it will be the quietest F1 season ever.
