Police Stops

Just wondering if anyone had been stopped by the police for having something illegal on there car for example, Headlights too bright, Windows too dark, etc.

Im at work bored so gotta do something and this is all I can think of

Have had this argument before with local police where I knew that the car was legal and frankly they were being tw*ts!! My standard response was "see you in court" which never semed to go any further. Whilst I dont reckon the local guys I do have a lot of respect for the traffic/interceptor guys & girls. They know how to drive and are keen drivers themselves. They know when someone is being a prat and will deal accordingly.

yea man atleast once a week i get pulled touch wood havnt got any points or nothing yet even with being caught speeding 5 or 6 times

its how you speak and react to them mate most of south wales police are sound been there when i needed them and when i havnt lol

I might get stopped for speeding at some point, but not gonna do anything to the car that will get me pulled over, id like blacked out windows, but law only allows a certain tint on front windows, and ds3 prob has the max tint or near max already.

Have been looking to get Pentagon to do work on mine. I want the back in limo black but reckon that I can go a shade darker on the fronts. Main reason for this is that it makes it almost impossible for would be trash to break into your car.

Yea, good point, but police look at dark tints as, they cant see who's in the car, so they make you get it removed. If only all the theiving scumbags didnt exist, there would be no need

The front side windows must allow at least 70% of light to be transmitted through them.

Legally where do I stand?
If you are the driver -
- You must not drive a vehicle on the road with the windscreen or front side windows excessively tinted. You may also invalidate your insurance with this modification, particularly as the vehicle
is likely to be illegal.

Equally good point, although Pentagon will only tint your windows within the law. If you asked them to do otherwise they will refuse to undertake the work. Unfortunately we are not allowed to terminate thieiving gits. They have to be sent for counseling and then a holiday at the vicitims (taxpayers) expense as they are emotionally disturbed and misunderstood!

They sound like a good company, but there are companys out there that will tint your windows to any level as long as you pay, they dont care if its illegal. I might get my front windows tinted to the max if they arent already, and the back windows to limo tint, but thats in the future.

I think the trade-off with tints (not commenting on the legality as such), is that if 'trash' cannot see into your car, they may make the assumption there is something in there worth having - I've seen documentaries where a car thief has said a coat on a seat will interest him as he'll assume it's hiding something of value - therefore this could be the case with tints - windows that can be seen through with nothing whatsover on display say 'nothing in here worth breaking in for'.....that was his view anyway.

On the car, no. On the bike it used to be every other weekend >.< Mainly when riding in large groups just to check everyone's details and be general twunts.

Never had any issue with the traffic rozzers, but I will say that police are people, just remember that, they are people. By people I of course mean some are complete and utter power mad C***S. Despicable types who want to bully someone. Then there are the few who are the kind that help make the world a better place.

I used to get pulled all the time, sometimes i miss it now im 27!

Mainly just checks, but last time was few years back for illegal Spanish plates on my Leon Cupra, was chattin to the copper about it sayin id had it mapped... well this opened another can of worms saying he'd check if id declared it etc lol

BUT i did pull into the petrol station on friday and an undercover Vectra pulls in, and the copper was really admiring the DS while filling up, asking alsorts!

I left it with a 'hope i dont see u again' lol
