At least they give us a clue though Biggie! I used to have some great free links and generally knew I could beat them with my fully detailed cars....

      Regards,
      Clive.

That's very true, but a word of warning to everybody - guide prices are just that - a guide. The numbers you may get are not set in stone and offers will vary from dealer to dealer depending on how they view your part exchange for their stock.

For example our dealership hates C2 VTR and VTS models and we will always punt they out to trade as we just can't sell them!

At the end of the day something is only worth as much as someone is prepared to pay for it and if I had a penny for every time a customer thought their car was the extra minty mint example that's worth way over book I would be a very rich man!!

It's an abbreviation for "cap in hand" where you go to a dealer and he sucks in his breath and offers you £50 for a 3 year old car and tells you 50 reasons why it's not worth any more! (even though he told you it was the best deal ever when you bought it!)

                  Hmmm.......

*makes mental note to let Jimbob's tyres down next meet*

CAP doesn't really stand for anything, just a name.

Well in theory it could be a play on one of the terms thrown around in the motor trade from years ago. Cars in part exchange would have a 'Cap value' which would the max you would pay for it so maybe that is where the name comes from.

Being an expatriate I often have to look up look up all these acronyms and abbreviations you guys throw about. Had a lot of hits about capitalization values being the true value of whatever.

Can't you ignore all Clives brilliant efforts until the day before you want to sell then get claying and machining like mad?

Then you would get the extra £1
