Citroen soon heir to the famous 2CV - 2014

A Citroën 2CV heiress will be launched in 2014. This is what the CEO of Citroën announced to our colleagues at the Tribune.

This is one of the most beautiful sea snakes of the French automotive industry. Since the death of the Citroën 2CV in 1988, rumors of a possible launch heiress never stopped. In recent years however, they have taken a new dimension with the introduction of two concepts inspired by the famous Citroën two legs: the Citroën C-Cactus Revolt in 2007 and in 2009.

The manufacturer to the rafters this time seems determined to take action. The Director General of Citroën, Frédéric Banzet, told our colleagues at the Tribune a car "Simple economic, modern and affordable" would indeed industrialized Madrid for a launch in 2014.

This is undoubtedly the continuation of Bill C-Cactus, in development for many years. Whether this model will result in a derived "DS2" later, the mystery remains unsolved.

There has been lots of talk about a replacement 2CV within Citroen circles. The C-Catus was never intended to be an heir to the deux chevaux as it was meant to show off Citroen's 'Green' credentials, the more likely contender in my mind is the Revolte as it already has the echoes of that familiar shape and is most likely to be penned as the DS2.

Ohh my goodness, I remember I never liked Citroen, and still it seems that has not changed! However, there's the one exception which is why I bought it, the lovely DS3 - they need to go a long way to impress me on these other models!
