  • DS3 Un-driveable

Well thats it..........My car is back at Citroen dealers, apparantly un-driveable.

Headlight bulb had gone.......so I changed it with one that I had in the garage, no luck. Tried another, no luck. Not totally sure if they where both knackered......off I pop to halfords and buy another...............No chuffing luck.

My wife was working near the Citreon dealers, so took it in. They phone her a couple of hours later to stay the car has major water problems. Water has got in around the headlights? and caused big problems.

I am not exactly sure wot, as I haven't spoken to the garage, and my wife is crap at relaying messages/details. So we have a C1 until the end of the week.

Bloody good job it is still under warranty............because whatever is wrong, it sounds bloody expensive.

Anyone else heard of the damp weather causing problems???

The car has not been thrashed through water, in anyway as my wife doesn't even like getting the tyres wet

Do you have the round rubber covers on the back of your light clusters ?

Some people have found theirs to be missing on delivery or fallen off while driving

Sometimes when the headlights are sealed to make them waterproof the seal fails and allow moisture in which damages the electrics for the lights, then what can then happen is that the lighting loom short circuits and blows the fuses. It's not a big job to replace the headlight units which is what I suspect will happen.

                  And just for you Chris...

Found out today that they are replacing a wiring loom. So that'll be a week and a half by the time I get it back.............assuming they can do it with no problems??

Never heard of this mullarky before. I know we have had a lot of crap weather this year, but bloody hell, you'd think that newer cars can handle it better than old cars. Obviously not.

Is this a design fault by Citreon???? & wot are the chances of having electrical problems at a later date????
