Some may know that i have a certain affection towards another car on the road other than the DS3. The Renault twizy is laughable by most but certainly different.
I love cars that are different and have not owned a car that people might consider (at least my friends consider) "normal".
The Twizy is just the icing and after test driving it at this years Trax ive been seriously considering one for my daily commute.
I then discovered an old colleague of mine bought one of the first twizys in the country and set up the twizy owners club website.
Now before anyone complains i acknowledge 'it has no windows, it has a limited range, you hire that battery (still cheaper than a tank of dino juice), it is slow, it is very smalland with no heater it can be cold in this weather. even with these drawbacks it beats paying over 3k a year to stand on a train with someones paper in your face. Then on sunny days and great driving roads your gonna have a great 'race car' like drive with lots of torque and a fairly tight chassis.
Anyhow today i ditched the train and jumped in the back to ride into london. have to say not the best place to be in the back, its certainly more comfortable, warmer and more enjoyable driving. Still it proved you can commute in the car, not pay road tax or congestion charge and in my mates case no fuel at all toping up at a boris powered charging station for free.
Do i want one ? yes. Will it replace the DS3? well after jumping back into my car for the journey home, ....ermmm unlikely lol. lets see if i can save enough money blag a used bargain and have a great second car.
