My next Marshaling event at Brands Hatch (Indy/GP) is on Saturday 25 - Sunday 26 for the Masters Historic Festival

This returns to Brands Hatch its traditional Bank Holiday weekend of classic racing action, and this year two brand new FIA historic championships headlining the bill.

The FIA Historic Formula One Championship caters for evocative Grand Prix cars raced during the 60s, 70 and 80s and featuring stirring machinery from the likes of Williams, McLaren, Lotus, Tyrrell and Arrows, all running in their period liveries, harking back to the days when Brands Hatch was a regular on the Formula One calendar.

The FIA Historic Sports Car Championship recalls the 500 and 1000km endurance races from the same period, when spectacular Le Mans prototypes provided an equally thrilling spectacle.

On the fabulous Grand Prix Circuit, spectators will be able to see these priceless examples pushed almost to the limit through the fast and flowing corners which like the cars, remain virtually unchanged from when they originally raced at Brands in anger. The event also includes superb competitive action from GTs and Saloons, amid a Bank Holiday atmosphere of nostalgia.

Had a busy day Saturday at the Masters Historic Festival. The Author Peter James rolled his BMW and ended up in the gravel at Post 4 bottom of Paddock Hill

After we got him out of the car I stayed with him until the medics arrived. He was ok but was complaining of back pain.

Heard yesterday that he cracked some ribs and bruised his spleen. He has thanked the marshals for their help and is keen to get back on the track as soon as possible.

After a short break I will be at:

            BARC Club Car Championships
            Brands Hatch (Indy)
            Saturday 29 - Sunday 30 June 2013

Hey AJ, you missed a good one last weekend!

                American Speedfest . . . V8 heaven!

As this was my first ever car meeting at Brands I thought I'd get a nice quiet post; Post 3 on Saturday, only one car in the gravel & no written reports, Post 4 on Sunday proved a little bit busier, to say the least - how many different ways can you say "car 29, four wheels off"?

Interesting right to the end - Sunday ended with an American car parade, during which one Corvette driver decided that Paddock Hill Bend was a good place to show how much power he had:
