    Alpine DAB Radio

    Hi Guys,

    I have some Alpine DAB radios in stock if anyone is interested. If you google Alpine DAB radio you will see what it looks like and you can read about its features. Also to those who arent aware.....come 2015 all fm stations will be changed to digital so any cars without a dab reciever will no longer have radio.....bummer i know!.

    I have no idea how they fit im afraid, but i would say its NOT a DIY job.

    there is no way fm will be turned off in the foreseeable future dab takeup has been minimal and its a poor standard virtually the rest of the world has abandoned

      The final report (written by Digital Radio Working Group) says FM should be switched off between 2017 and 2022. And this switch off is recommended to boost digital radio and improve profit of United Kingdom digital radio IC suppliers. No further details about alternative use were provided [1] This report is only a recommendation and successive Governments have admitted that FM VHF Band II analogue radio would not cease until the "majority" use "digital", so no actual date has ever been agreed. Digital listening figures however consistently include Satellite, DTT and online streaming, not just DAB. In any case there is a commitment to maintain community FM Radio. This means that as long as there are significant numbers of listeners on FM in the United Kingdom no government is likely to take the politically unpopular decision to turn off analogue.

            Steamed? That can't be good for the phone surely?

                how do you stream it my phone just jumps to music app as soon as its selected as a source

                  I have it plugged in to an aux port.

                  I think you play music through spotify before you connect it, it should stream.. works sometimes but never tried it in a ds3

                    Start playing in Spotify, then change source on the car.

                      Just been emailed by CUK and they asking £285 for EZI-DAB and £215 for AUTO-DAB

                        The AUTO-DAB which is all hidden behind the dash should hopefully be available from Halfrauds soon.

                        This system uses existing steering controls and shows station info on vehicles existing display ! Sounds too good for £149

                        Link says not available at this time ? DAB site only says C3 - should that suit DS3 ??
