  • First Car Stories Competition - With MoneySuperMarket

    Hi guys,

Moneysupermarket have emailed us asking for your first car stories, here: www.moneysupermarket.com

    First car stories

The vast majority of us have fond memories about our first cars, and enjoy reminiscing about them.
To mark used car season, MoneySupermarket has therefore started up a campaign called ‘First Car Stories’, where bloggers and website owners are invited to post stories about their first motor. It could be about anything. You could tell the tale of something unexpected which happened to you in your first car, or maybe you will just review it and compare it to your current vehicle.

There is a nice memento on offer to all participants, with every first car story contributor receiving a diecast model replica of their first motor.

    First Car Stories
Everyone has fond memories about their first cars. It doesn’t matter if it broke down every couple of miles or had a wheel hanging off- for some reasons almost all of us look back positively and enjoy reminiscing about them.
So why not share your first car stories with MoneySupermarket and get a diecast model of your first motor?

    How do I take part?
To take part in our First Car Stories campaign, you must have a blog and write a post reminiscing about your first motor.
It doesn’t matter what you are telling us- perhaps you are a petrol head and would like to write a post reviewing your first car, or maybe you just have an interesting story to tell about something that happened to you in your first vehicle. As long your post is focused on your first car and tells us exactly what make and model it is.

Most importantly, have fun with it! Whether your fist car was like a best friend to you or an embarrassing uncle that you were ashamed to be seen with, we’d like to hear about you most memorable moments.

Once you have written the post, simply send us a link to your blog post on competitions@moneysupermarket.com with the subject line ‘First Car Stories’. You should also provide your postal address so that we can send a model version of your first car to you.

NOTE: It is important that you postal address is supplied as this is the only way we will be able to get the model to you. Please read the terms and conditions before you enter.

    What do I get?
Once we have seen your post, we will then send you a diecast model version of your first car as close to the specifications you describe as possible.
We will attempt to match the make, model, colour and also the year of production of your car in model form in either 1:18, 1:24, 1:32 or 1:43 scale (dependent on what is available).
Once we have received your email, we will then get in touch with you as soon as we can.
Please see our terms and conditions page for more details.

    Spread the word
If you are taking part in our campaign, then spread the word amongst your fellow bloggers. Tell them about this page in your ‘First car stories’ post, tag them, or simply spread the word on Twitter with the hashtag #FirstCarStories.

My first car was supposed to be a baby blue Escort diesel, my thinking being that it would be cheap to run and insure. Anyway I was at an Auction house where this car was being sold and I planned to use the money my Gran had given me to buy it. Halfway through the sales I decided to go for a Hot Dog at the back of the hall when I heard what I thought was the lot number for the Escort. Waving my arms about at the back I won the bidding without seeing the car.... think you can see where this is going!

So I pay my money and was given the key to a Ford and told the ticket number of the car, I walk out to the lot and discover that I had indeed heard the word "Escort" mentioned by the Auctioneer but missed the "XR3i" part, I was now the proud owner of a Laser Red XR3i....!

Anyway the car didn't last long as my insurance company basically laughed down the phone at me and I replaced it with the Orion Ghia
