Did they do what my garage does....a walk around inspection to make note of any damage to the car, if so they should have made note of a cracked screen. If screen was then found to be cracked when you collected it as far as I would be concerned the damage is down to them and they need to fix it

Is there any inpact damage to show that something hit the car? Otherwise it could just be down to frost damage, have a C3 on the pitch which got a long crack on it overnight after a real cold spell.

Ask the garage if they would be willing to pay the windscreen excess (if you have one) or just phone the insurance company, windscreens don't effect your NCB.

Unlucky fella, given their response to if you're sure it was in their care when it happened, thats just completed unprofessional and quite frankly, disgusting.

The problem here is proving that Zack's dealer is in the wrong, but saying that I would have thought that they would step up to the plate seeing that the DS3 was in their care. The dealers insurance would cover a new screen to be fitted and to be honest it's what we would have done straight away.

The warranty doesn't cover any accidental damage or chips to the windscreen, if it has failed then it needs to be proved that it was a manufactoring defect (very hard!)

Best thing to do is appeal to the garage to pay the windscreen excess (£75 tops??).

i had the exact same thing with my C4!
I got no response from the dealer and just got autoglass to replace it, who did say it was down to a poorly fitted windscreen. Never bothered getting back to citroen on it though as auto glass made a cock up of fitting the new one so claimed back my excess from them! WIN.

Said They Couldn't Repair It As It Is So Big ( Which I Can Understand ) But Quoted Me £600 For A New One...
