  • Ferrari F430 Experience day @ Silverstone

Thought I would share pictures of my Ferrari F430 Experience at ...a present given to me by my work colleagues for my 60th Birthday
Only 3 laps but gave me a huge insight into the art of track driving (First time) and of course driving a Ferrari....fast.....ish
I was only just getting used to the circuit when it was over..so didn't really exploit the true potential of the 485 bhp on tap...although I did hit 140mph on Hangar Straight..I think
Here are some pictures of the day..

Thanks to Alan for coming with me ....laughing, taking photos, watching the Indian GP and taking the piss!!
I thoroughly enjoyed it despite a heavy cold and a over bearing instructor who kept shouting out "Brake!" when I didn't want to! LOL

You should do the Palmer motor sports day at Bedford Aerodrome, the instructors encourage you to go faster, it's brilliant

Any idea how much it cost Robbo (Think it was a gift so you may not)
Sounds great fun. other than being told to brake
Did they have brake boards round the circuit? and were you the only one on the track?

              It was £99
Yes brake boards ..but he was telling me to brake too early.....before the boards
There were other cars on the circuit, but no more than 3 to 4 at a time..other cars were no issue

Sounds like they were scared for the Ferrari

Sounds like the Instructor was concerned about his safety

nice one, drove one of these at elvington in york, but was unfortunate enough to get a convertable one allowing my receeding head to blow in the wind :P

also drove an aston DB9 (brilliant!) and a 911 turbo which was insane with the acceleration, instructor was egging me on to go faster in the 911, think he was trying to get me to pap myself.

was weird driving the flappy paddels but a good experience

I'm used to the flappy paddles...my car has them
I'm looking forward to Elvington in the spring, when I'm doing a triple super car challenge

yeah thats the same one i did, i just really regret not picking the ariel atom as one of my choices, you can pay on the same day for extra cars though

bad thing about elvington it is just cones laid on an airfield opposed to a proper track, and my first car i drove was spent learning the layout and the other cars was just over too fast

next track i see will be croft next year in my 207

I did a Super Car Experience drive on public roads, urban and motorway in a Ferrari F1 430 Spider
August 2012. Cost £149 and this was a birthday present to me from my wife.

I thought the hour's public road drive was better value than three or four laps at Silverstone.
This drive was with Cars on Demand in Wakefield Tel 08456756777.
                              www.supercar-experiences.com.

I was accompanied by an Advanced driver in the Ferrari.
It was a fantastic buzz driving this car on the public road within speed limits of course!!!

                              Regards
