I dont recall editing the video as i have no editing software mate; I just connected the camera to my PC with a mini USB, found the 5 minute long file then uploaded said file to YT. What makes it look like it was edited?

Ok no worries. I thought you may have cropped it to 5 mins.

No, the camera has settings for recording a set time for clips, think it's 1 minute, 2 minutes and 5 minutes[emoji106]

                  • I have this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/E-PRANCE-Amb...&keywords=0803

The video is excellent! especially in 1080p 45fps mode, nice and clear video and readable number plates! Night time footage is slightly better than average I'd say. The stock software is useless use: http://www.registratorviewer.com/index_en.html

                    • Hi Everyone. For Christmas my dad got me the transcend drive pro 200. So far everything seems great with it, it's only forward facing but the quality is top. However a a four minute video uses about half a gig so on a 32gb card that's only 4 hours. The app on your phone is simple and easy to use though so clips can be saved straight to your phone while still in the car and once the memory card is full it automatically overwrites the oldest clips. The fisheye lense does make it seem like you're going faster than you are.

My question is has anybody wired any extra power in somewhere like the glovebox by picking up a cable somewhere as I miss charging my phone while I drive however don't really want a splitter box. It would also mean I could permanently thread my satnav cable to the same place too. Thanks.

Have a look at my posts #86 & #90 in this thread. I've run a 5m USB cable from the cigarette lighter to the camera behind the rear view mirror. The USB adaptor I use (in post #90) allows me to power my TomTom and the dash cam while still plugging another USB adaptor in the top to charge my phone.

Hope this helps, let me know if you need more pics / info.

Thanks, I've managed to run the cable through under the flormats, then up the side of the car and across to the centre so it is basically invisible, but it just means I can't charge my phone or use my satnav while recording now because my camera takes up the whole lighter hole socket thing, I was just wondering if there was any way around this without buying a splitter as they're pretty untidy, I might see if I can get a USB charger for my camera I just can't see one anywhere. Thanks for your help though.

EDIT: Also was just wondering do you all take your camera down when parking etc? Just don't really want someone breaking in for it, It's not too visible but you never know.

I usually leave the power adaptor and the mount where they are and just put the camera away when I'm parking. I've considered changing the camera for a Mobius though, so it's hidden better.

                              • Take a look at post #107 if you do want to consider a camera that's pretty well hidden. I love my Mobius, I don't even have to touch it when I get into the car it just sits there quietly doing it's thing and it's already helped me out with an insurance claim.
I'm told it's not too difficult to wire these things into the fusebox, you just need to know what you're doing... I don't so I went down the splitter route. It doesn't look too tacky actually and it now means that my 12v socket is where it should be in a car... On that half hearted shelf under the CD player.
