  • Courtesy Cars - The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

The DS3 has been sent off for a warranty repair and it's given me an opportunity to try various courtesy cars until I receive it back.
It doesn't have to be DS3 related but if you have had the chance to drive any courtesy cars what were your opinions on them?
Interested to see what you think was good, bad and what is the ugliest you've experienced.

My parents lent me their other car when Citroen couldn't provide me with one. Not the '86' Porsche 911, not the brand new VW Beetle. The Fiat Panda. The 4x4 Fiat Panda at that.

    The steering was reaaaaaaly heavy
The clutch was so high and weird I dreaded leaving a standstill.
You needed to maintain constant pressure on the accelerator pedal to continue any momentum, no gentle cruising to slow at a junction. Literally go or stop.
    The ride height was awful
The stereo, with tape player, made the radio sound like it was being played trough a bag of grated cheese.
I don't think it actually had suspension
The interior was so grey and plastic it was like being in an N64 controller
The Reg ended in FXY. There was nothing Foxy about this

I wanted to cry every time I drove it.

Of the 3 this was bad and ugly

The only picture I have of it, is with it behind me in my DS3, whilst I am slightly dressed as a leopard.

    My DS3R3... nearly....

I had a petrol DS3 for a day. I nearly fell out of the seat on the first round about.

For my brothers wedding I had a THP in bright yellow. It was fun on country roads but my dad did keep asking me to slow down. Wuss.

I had a 2011 1.4 C3 once with the panoramic roof. Awful - Not much to say other than that haha.

Had a 2010 C1 while I was waiting for the DS3. Felt quite nippy and was v. economical but definitely built down to a budget (eg no courtesy light switch on the passenger door!) Tailgate was frameless glass - always felt like it would break if you shut it firmly

A 2013 Fiesta 1.0l Ecotec or something like that, was supposed to be a great drive but it was awful, horrible interior, no power, restricted to 72mph and drank petrol, was so relieved when I got back in the DS3. Wouldn't recommend that model of Fiesta to anyone....

I'd agree the courtesy car was a steaming pile of poo, cost me more to drive the 1.0l Fiesta to Liverpool and back than it does in my 1.6eHDI DS3

Had a DS3 edhi90 and it felt like the Flintstones car (Sorry) and then an adhi 115, that was pretty good, but that stop/ start is frightening if youve never had it before LOL

In the words of the current Mrs SFG (to the dealer)when swapping over our repaired DSport with the Fiat 500L.

"Its fugly and has no oomph"

Not quite a courtesy car but I'm in Tenerife right now and the hire car company didn't have any of the DS3's they promised available so they've given my a Volkswagen Polo.
The interior is disgusting and the body rolls like a cross channel ferry.

Recently had a 1.6 petrol astra (SE, I think) and I didn't like it. Nice to look at and actually had THREE cup holders! But didn't like the engine, no cruise control :-(

Work got me a skoda before that, estate no less... I actually quite liked that one, especially compared to the astra
