Mrs Matt was fed up with silver and other 'boring' colours. Purple was too dark and looked almost black, so it was a choice of yellow or red (blue was a no as my car is blue as you can see)
The only yellow ones we found, sold before we got there or were small garages which I try to avoid. Whilst I don't generally trust any car dealer, at least with an approved vehicle I have a big company warranty and someone to sue ;-). First red one turned out to have missed part of its service history, then this one came up near us at Basingstoke Citroen.
Gave it a quick polish and removed a few scratches. I rather like it. Now need to polish my baby as it looks dirty next to it!
Plates are fake by the way ;-) get bored of blurred plates in pics so just fiddled with the letters instead ;-)
Had a go today, was 4 up so no chance to really play. I suspect there is more performance to be found once I find the sweet spot and loose the kids from the back seats! I'm rather pleased I insisted on the 1.6 thp though, was quite effortless getting up to speed, just need some time to explore the power and handling now. :-)
I reckon a lot of cars look really good in red. Spotted a red fiat 500 with chrome bits on that looked really nice the other day. Couldn't live with the lack of power though. Lots of people are put off red though due to 80s/90s red cars fading to pink.
I've polished this one with red pigmented polish that I had left over from when I had a red 123d, then gone over with a paint seal liquid wax. Once those run out I'll use my normal armourall shield which seems to work well on the m135i.
I'm a volunteer tree surgeon and help to manage our local woodlands, I justified this to myself to lug my chainsaw gear and pull a trailer of timber around (I had a sports quad before this one), however it's mostly for fun and goes green laning and other similar type things with my quad bike mates.
