We seem to agree on this, which is worrying but I want to keep the driving experience, not hand it over to a computerised gearbox

However, never is a long time, and will have to try one, one day in years to come
Only positive I can see is not having to use the clutch all the time on the M25!

You can get a Tuning box for £500 new (Used £200) that takes power to 340bhp+

Only had car 2 weeks, and am thinking bout getting one that's on the market
Got a feeling i'm running before I can walk.. and then theres the darned warranty. altho that didna stop me in the THP

I had Vector Tuning (German Company) for 480 Eur (350 GBP), their website is down now, but their product is identical to the RaceChip, it just has the different name.

          http://www.racechip.com/chiptuning/v...21kw/index.php

It has a nice app with 3 modes, i could really feel the difference, and it claims to add 77bhp and 101Nm for the R!

Actually, you are right Albish. Tuning box takes me to 370bhp :-) and no need for a remap. Takes half hour to fit.

            4 modes. :-)

              Update:
Getting grief going on about the DS3 on another Forum, and even more grief when I say will get another DS3 (Ha!- this Club taught me how to get used to Forum grief :-)

The power and performance of the R is really good, the cabin size is big
Have a Tuning box coming at the weekend, which will boost 70BHP, fitting myself in 20 mins they reckon
Then a pedal box which makes the go pedal much more reactive

Loadsa motors rush up behind you, then back off, or cant keep up LOL.

However, I don't love it, still hanker after a DS3 and will get one in the next year or 2. Either an old THP which will be modded to heck, or one of the new Performance jobs if they are priced as quoted. :-)

              I'll be back :-)

I can't say the same thing here unfortunately with the amount of issues I have had from my DS3

Though am tempted by the DS3 Performance. though was looking at the new 208 GTi as well.

Glad you're enjoying it Chris - Just stay away from any 2010 THP's with a reg starting DF..

Is that not still the same engine as the new DS3 though, if so then potentially the same engine issues.

The DS3 engine is the same as the 208 (the 208 has this engine already - The DS3 is not released yet), and possibly similar issues will arise. The 308 using this too with an uprated 250/270Bhp versions too.

I remember talking to Jamie when I was having my Sachs clutch installed, that the 308 uses a beefier clutch much like the DS3 racing. Unless they have found a way around the side effects of direct injection, carbonisation will (probably) still be an inherent issue.

I think all Engine manufacturers are facing this issue. PSA/BMW are not alone. I know on the 200 THP Peugeot blocked off the Rear breather outlet. would be nice to see what they have done to the 208BHP THP unit. anyone any closeups of the rear outlet?

The reason the aft port is blocked is because it is routed internally on those engines. Someone, Czar maybe? once posted about it.

I think the Mini 2016 was moving away from the prince engine altogether.
