  • Advice on a purchase

Hi all looking for some advice I have placed a deposit on ds3racing PY11PYA it has 7700 miles on with a full Citroen history buying from dealer who sold it in first place and has serviced it . It will come with a 12 month warranty from Citroen. However I have read some horror stories re engine changes etc and with general problems with these cars. Do the benefits far outweigh the issues I have test driven hard and it felt great even against my current Impreza with loads more power. All comments and advice greatly appreciated
    Cheers

The racings as you're already aware have a pretty bad reputation however, with a few modifications some owners have had success with keeping them alive.

Personally, I wouldn't take the chance. I know from past experience how costly these can be when they go wrong.

If however, you're mechanically minded and stay on top of maintenance it'll be well worth the investment.

Have you asked the Dealer if there are any previous issues ? (Engine replacements/ engine rebuilds/ engine cleans etc etc)
12 month Citroen warranty is good
Maybe drive it hard, don't modify, and sell if you get any issues
There are some around that have no issues, all relative low mileage too

The THPs and Racings are fabulous cars, all the time theres no issues ;-)
