Hello, been lurking over the past few days and just registered - although it was a bit of a struggle as I got the check question wrong! something about if there are two people in the room how many fingers are there in the room, I said 16, computer said NO! Trying to be too clever I guess

Anyway looks like I'm about to trade my 54 plate golf tdi for a DS3. The golf is getting pretty tired and I need/want someting a little smaller and petrol with a bit of character. I'm still debating vti or Thp in my head, used not new.

The last Citroen I had was a AX GT in about 1996 I think, which was a fun little car.

The THP is an awesome car, but do read up and do some research. The 150THP has the worst history, the 155 less and the new 165 is fairly new. So there hasn't been much to say about any faults.

Saying that it's worth remembering people will post more about faults and failures than how awesome there DS3 is, so everything read online is worth taking with a pinch of salt.

If I did less mileage I would have got the 165 Petrol rather than the 110 diesel

My first DS3 was the Vti, and I loved it. But for long journeys and the speed freak that I am, on the motorways it was almost crying out for a 6th gear. My drive to work is motorways and I live in Manchester but go home to Herts often, so the my Vti WTF had a loads of long boring journeys.

If you can find a THP with warranty etc you would get more for your money re the equipment you get with them.

Also look into plus models for the Vti Dsign and the THP Dsport. They came with a few extras

Thanks for the advice above all, very helpful.

So I have found and bought a 61 plate 1.6 vti which I am collecting this Monday I struggled to find a THP that fitted my requirements and budget that wasn't miles away, and as I use the car daily for work I thought the vti may be the better choice, anyway time will tell. No photos as yet but it is a DStyle+ in red with a black roof, 26k miles, and seems to be in good shape.
