Hello there
I have just joined the club as I have inherited a 2012 DS3 1.6 e HDI from a family member.
The car has covered 85000 miles and runs as good as gold I am pleased to say, still gives around 58 to the gallon, doesn’t use oil or water and everything seems to work as it should. I would send a picture along but at the moment there is most of a field attached to it. When it’s clean I will send one to make a better first impression.
I am a very mature 30 something shall we say, married with a grown up family who are still cluttering the place up. I live in east Yorkshire not far from the coast which is handy for walking the latest addition to the family.
It’s the first car I have had for around 10 years as I have always been lucky enough to be able to use some other car when I needed to, everything from a 1985 Talbot Horizon up to a Prodrive prepared Subaru WRX which I fell in love with instantly. The family still have a BMW and a Mini JCW, but in all honesty I prefer the DS3.
Anyhow now there are more years behind me than in front those days have gone. I used to work in the motor trade 20 or so years ago but that knowledge is a little rusty now as well as outdated, hence joining the club hopefully for a little help and guidance with all these new ideas under the bonnet.
The car was bought from a well known dealer in Barnsley who failed miserably to live up to their own high expectations. When the handbook pack arrived, 4 months after the car did, there were a couple of discs in the folder marked up with the Citroen logo which was a surprise as no one else I spoke to had seen these before. It turns out they are a “workshop manual and parts list” for want of a better description which is very useful indeed but sometimes it’s better to ask those that know.
I hope to bump into a few of you if and when there are any meeting in my neck of the woods and hope I might be able to contribute something useful as well, you never know there is a first time for everything!
All the best
Simon
