  • Hello and question.

    First off, hello all.
I have been reading the forum for the last month or so, since I became a DS3 owner.
And a very happy one at that!

    I have a DS3 1.2 Puretech, 16 plate.
Inkblue with a storm grey roof, he is a little beauty (i think).

My question is a little weird and concerns the USB.
    I have a Sandisk 32gb, formatted to FAT32.
Everything is fine apart from it refuses to recognise a particular album.
Every other thing I put on it is fine and plays.

I have had the stick out and reformatted but still no joy.

The album is QOTSA, Like Clockwork.
I burned it both in WMA and MP3 but neither is playing.

Any help would be appreciated, Buzzer.

    Hi and welcome.
Page 272 of the manual says the following:
The MyWay will only play audio files with the extension ".Mp3" with a speed of between 8kbps and 320kbps and the extension ".WMA" with a speed of between 5kbps and 384kbps.
It also supports the VBR (Variable Bit Rate) mode.
No other type of file (.Mp4, .M3u ...) can be played.

It is advisable to restrict file names to 20 characters, without using special characters (e.g. :"? to avoid any play or display problems.

    Hope this helps.

I think there might also be a limit on the number of files you can have in the root folder/directory of the USB stick.

It will only display up to 999 I think?

First thing to try is renaming the folder to something simple such as "abc" and see if that works.

Next make sure that the files are not protected copied, i.e restricted to being played on a certain device.

Thanks again for the suggestions, been a bit busy the last few nights but I will have a tinker this weekend.
The stick and files are okay because when I put it in the other half's hyundai it all works and everything is there.
As an extra most times when I get in the DS3 it says unreadable and I have to take the stick out and reinsert it for it to be recognised?

Have you tried using a different stick in the DS3?

If you keep getting read errors then you may have an issue with the socket it's self and it would be worth having that checked out.

                      Problem solved.
After much messing about all i had to do was create a new folder, import all the tracks separately and hey presto!
Don't understand what was amiss with the original but there was obviously something that my little French friend didn't get on with.

                      Thanks all!
