  • Seriously considering buying a DS3.. anything I need to be aware of?

Hi all, I'm new to the forum...
I'm seriously considering buying a DS3 DSport (110 bhp). I've had 2 test drives and sat down with the dealer earlier in the week who can do a nice deal on finance when I throw in my current car.

I was just wondering if anyone on this Forum knows what the width of the DS3 INCLUDING MIRRORS is?

I know it sounds silly but I would really like to fit it in the garage. We've only recently bought a house that has a garage and I am determined to use it! My current car is a Citroen C2 1.6 VTS, which fits fine, but I noticed the mirrors on the DS3 are a lot bigger than on the 'old' (C2/C3) models.

If the car does not fit as is, I am seriously thinking of adding the City Signature pack just so I get the folding mirrors (and I wouldn't mind rear parking sensors as I have those now). Do you think that is a solution? Do you think it's worth paying the extra?

Third and perhaps most importantly: I'm not sure what colour combination to go for. Current car is black all over, but is a bit boring. I like the Botticelli Blue, but I also don't want to be seen as a 'girly' car (even though I am a girl). What do you reckon? Light blue with black roof and black wheels?
I don't want anything TOO garish...
Botticelli blue/Onyx black with black wheels.. whoohoo

welcome , the ds3 is a nice car and surely you can fold in the mirrors to get it in if they do stick out too far???

Width including mirrors is 1990mm. As my garage door opening is only 2040mm wide, for me the power folding mirrors were essential - saves a lot of messing about folding them manually.

I use my parents garage when I visit them, my old C2 VTS fitted in no problem but the DS3 is wider so to be on the safe side I fold the mirrors to get through the doorway, I think it would fit through without folding them but there isn't much room for error. The DS3 is longer than the C2, I had to help my dad clear out some old junk from the end of the garage as there used to be only enough space to get the C2 in.
DS3 Racing, also available in White!!!

                Hi And Welcome Dutch Girl...

Not Sure What Era Your House Was Built But These Days With Modern Houses The Usual MINIMUN Width Allowance For A Single Garage Door Is Roughly 2.10m... ( Boring Quantity Surveying Coming In Handy There ),

So You Should have Plenty Of Room, The Folding Mirrors Are A Bonus Mind For Extra Peace Of Mind !

Hiya, yes it's a newish (10 years old) house and garage seems reasonable width, I think it's 210mm like you said. Length should be OK, even though we took a bit off the back of the garage to add to the house.. I have plenty of room with the C2, I know the DS3 is a bit longer but should still fit.
I actually found a Citroen dealer in Winchester who will let me borrow one to drive & test if it fits in the garage. Great service! So will probably buy it from them.
But I'm really keen on getting a 61 reg so might wait til after 1st June as they said lead time 12 weeks?
                  Will keep you posted

I have the tinest garage in the world and if I fold one mirror (manually) I can get the car in AND get out of the door

welcome and Bott blue isn't girly, is it? I was going to have it with white roof unless they bring us the orange one I posted earlier

I've now been able to take a demonstrator home and try it in the garage and it would've JUST fit with millimetres to spare.. I don't want to run the risk of damaging the wing mirrors each time I park so will go for folding mirrors. However, I don't necessarily want to go for the City sig pack as I don't like automatic air co / climate control or automatic wipers and headlights.. Yes I'm weird like that but I like to be in control myself! Would it end up a lot more expensive is I choose folding mirror and perhaps rear parking sensors separately ?
