I am the proud owner of Black Special Edition 1.6HDi - previously I had a 116i 1 series BMW which was definitely not the car to have if you were covering a lot of miles as it was very thirsty you were lucky to get 30mpg, as apposed to 59.4mpg which I'm getting now.
The DS3 is such a fun car to drive ... and very eye catching with its LCD's, in fact there's nothing negative I can say about it; it ticks all the boxes, just a couple of little nags which I'm getting sorted when it goes back to the dealers on Monday.
Namely; when we bought it on 1 June 2011, it was an ex-demonstration model with just under 4,000 miles on the clock - within a few days of driving we realised that the front near side bodywork flips out and that the clips aren't holding it in place. Secondly, yesterday whilst driving I was suddenly aware of a grating noise and when I pulled over was horrified to see that the trim under the passenger door had come away and was dragging under the car. I rang the Roadside Assistance number and the AA came out to me. Within a few minutes and with aid of a screwdriver he removed the trim completely. I was impressed with the service but disappointed with the fact that part of my new car had dropped off!!!
Anyway hopefully it'll be sorted on Monday - covered by the warranty etc., and a courtesy car free of charge (well they did promise, so it will be interesting to see what happens ...)
As I knowingly bought the car as an ex-demonstration model you start to question how well the car has been looked after - but hopefully it will all be sorted and not cause any further problems.
This forum is fantastic, (we've been coming on as guests for a while, before we got our DS3) and the information etc., has been invaluable to us.
