Would it be possible to say your our first used ds3 member? Be interesting to see how the values held, guessing with it being a year old nothings fallen off yet. As for the stripes the only black edt I've ever seen was owned by a lil ol lady lol. They do look smart without it though

Ha ha. I had no budget, I was considering buying a new dsport, but that's only because used prices are unrealistic. This one was priced much better. I'm sorry to say the arse will drop out of the used values in the next 6 months as more cars reach a year old. Currently some stealers think a year and 12k only knock a grand off. In reality you should lose 1500 the moment you drive out of the showroom.

Picked this up today, some initial impressions:-

          Cornering:- great
Engine:- pulls well, economy not so good (unsettlingly this was the main reason i bought it )
Interior:- Looks great but the lack of an armrest is pissing me right off, as is the lack of any kind of token gesture support from the seats.
          Roadnoise: really good.
          Storage:- Glovebox?!!? See missing armrest!
What the hell is the yellow thing in the boot? Where is my spare wheel!
Like the look of it more every time I see it.
Hilarious lack of cosmetic engine cover - though this appeals to me as its a dumb thing to have.
Like the reach adjustment on the steering wheel. Good addition.
Centre head rest - well, do people remove this or what?
Do I really have to pay 12quid for an air freshener?

All things considered, I like it but I am left wondering if I'll get a less poverty-spec one in a few months!

Mpg is bad around city driving (45-50mpg)

But get on 60mpg roads and you'll get 65mpg

Engine:- pulls well, economy not so good (unsettlingly this was the main reason i bought it ) Performance & economy is better than my old C2 VTS
Interior:- Looks great but the lack of an armrest is pissing me right off, as is the lack of any kind of token gesture support from the seats. Never had an armrest in any of my previous cars and never felt the need, the Racings seats are Ace

Storage:- Glovebox?!!? Have to agree, Citroen have taken the name literally
What the hell is the yellow thing in the boot? Where is my spare wheel! Lotus Elise I hired some years ago just had a can of Tyre Weld!!!

You can get the armrest from eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-CI...item3cbbdd5430 There are cheaper ones, but they're not OE

What the hell is the yellow thing in the boot? Where is my spare wheel!
That liquid and pump is great, we got a puncture and got worried about that, followed the instructions and it works amazing, far better than tyre weld etc. Plus, you also get a nice 12v air compressor

Do I really have to pay 12quid for an air freshener?
Nope, take the wick out of the holder, soak in any air freshener refill available from Halfrauds overnight, then re-install - only costs about £3

Just to make you upset, we've got a modified THP DSport, taken to over 211bhp 238 lb/ft torque, leaves DS3R's for dust + we can get over 50mpg on a nice motorway ran, pahahahaha

Don't forget to mention that the engine blew up though.

We lost part of a piston land, not really "blew up" lol. And not through any fault of our own, down to bad PCV design letting oil haze into a direct injection combustion chamber, doh! At least ours won't do it again, you deleted the rear PCV yet or is yours still accumulating carbon deposits?

If this is a known problem with an engine that has been around for several years why haven't they issued a recall?

I won't be doing anything to my engine myself, and if anything goes wrong with it I will claim on the warranty with a clear conscience.

Went to give a card to a bloke the other day (Yellow DSport) and it was on hire from Avis. I wonder how many they have and when they will hit the market

Known problem on the THP since about 3 months after it was first installed in a Mini R56 Cooper S and Peugeot 207gti, so about 2007!!! As for recall, that won't happen, and it'll probably be done on everyones next service.

What's the resale/trade in value on a DS3R with a replacement engine? Probably less than one on it's original i'd of thought?

I'm sorry but I can't believe this has been known about since 2007 & they've carried on building the engines exactly the same!!!

My MR2 Roadster had a new head, short block, cat & gearbox over 7 years, all under warranty & this didn't have any effect on the trade in price!!!
