1. USB location.
The main reason for the placement of the USB socket is the armrest is an option on the DS3 so having mounted in there was not an option. Also the glove box or cubby wouldn't work either as LHD and RHD cars would need different wiring looms. On a personal note we have the DS3 USB and have never had a problem with where's it mounted, granted if you use a iPod all the time the cable does get in the way so a USB stick is the way to go there.
2. No Glove box light.
Interesting point, a couple of Citroen's do have this and I'm not sure why it was omitted from the DS3.
3. Interior lighting comes from one 501 bulb in the middle of the roof. Does little at night with an all black interior.
The reason the light is in the middle is because the mounting point for the e-touch GSM and bluetooth mic are where you normally find the interior light. Granted it's not the brightest but a quick change to a LED bulb will solve that.
4. HiFi system not really up to much at all.
On any new car you need to bed the speakers in, cranking the volume up to full will only damage them from the start. The rear sub woofer with the Hi-Fi pack does tend to vibrate against the interior boot trim, a piece of foam will stop that from happening. Remember that bass is 'felt' rather than 'heard'.
5. Interior plastics are not very good in my opinion.
This is always going to be your opinion, personally when I had a BMW M-Sport in the other day (px against a DS3) I felt that the 'rhino' plastic was awful and very cheap looking and don't get me started on the VW golf i drove the other day!
At the end of the day don't think we are rallying against you in denfense of our beloved French darling! Opinions from people alway matter regardless of what they are. I welcome you to the club and I hope you enjoy your time with your DS3
