    Hi all

    Just wanted to say hello.

At the moment no Danish forums regarding the DS3 are to be found, therefore i came by this one and found it very interresting.

Last Thursday i bought myself a DS3 1.6HDi D-Style for arround £25.775 (Yes Danish car prices are insane) with a £3.838 off discount because it was a democar with 2000km. on the clock.

    This is the Wonder:

And some pictures with the Club sticker and some rally decals on

I Also got som stickers on the roof £15 for the work sallery in that.

So hi everyone looking forward to talk about the DS3 a lot

Jesus! Is that in euro's as in twenty five thousand seven hundred and seventy five euros? If so, then fook yeah, it certainly seems they're asking top dollar for it over there.

If you've perused the forum, you'll know I ain't a big fan of this particular colour - to each their own and everything, but I would suggest contacting your dealer and look into getting some extra chrome bits on it, it really does make all the difference and looks the part.

Glad you're happy with it though, that's the most important thing. I'm currently knocking out about 62.5mpg on my HDI, so I can vouch for KDJ's numbers.

Welcome to the forum as well

          Thanks everyone.

Gar074 -> From Copenhagen, capital of Denmark, but originaly from South Sjaelland

irishRob ->, its in British Pounds converted from Danish Kroners, we have a 180% tax on cars here in Denmark.
          http://www.google.dk/search?q=25.775...rEAsWHOLS_qLgG

can i get more chrome on it ?? heh.

But yes, know its not the bestlooking color, but instead of paying the £3.300 ekstra and have to wait for 2-3month for delivery, i bought this one, then i can allways have it repainted when i get tired of it.

Hi Eiken its good to have members from over the wet stuff, Tell IrishRob how much a beer is in Copenhagen !! if I remember right I was in Denmark in 92 and we paid around £6 for a beer luckily I was in the forces so we took our own and lots of it. Great country though and we were made to feel very welcome by the people of Oksbol and I ended up in hospital in Esjberg where the surgeons did a great job. So welcome Eiken

I remember taking a long detour on a family trip across Denmark from Esjberg to the Oresund bridge a few years ago, just so we could visit a town called Skive - and all because I wanted to send a postcard to colleagues back at work saying "I'm skiving in Skive"

              Sad but true!

(For Elken's benefit, just in case it's lost in translation, "skiving" is an english slang expression for evading work or responsibility)

                Thnx Floydy.

Hehe yeah beer is still around £5-6 pr. Bottle if you go to a bar or club.
Gues the gas prices are pretty much the same??

We pay around £5.44 pr. Gallons of petrol
And £4,35-4,63 pr. Gallons of diesel.

Yeah thanks to the British goverment taxes Diesel is about £1.19 per Litre which puts it at £5.35 a gallon

                      Classic!! Maybe next time...

Must confess that I've got a bit of a track-record for this type of thing. Have sent postcards home before now from places such as Misery and Condom (both in France), Paradise (in California) and, a particular favourite of mine, Windpassing (in Austria).

                      Sad but true!

Edit: have just remembered my disappointment at not finding a postcard showing Poo, in Northern Spain, although I did persuade my daughter to take a photograph of me standing in Poo... (not for the first time)

Was in Amsterdam in November gone there and crikey that was expensive, so I can easily imagine the price of beer at your neck of the woods!

Eiken, couldn't you have went on holiday to the UK here, ordered one and picked it up while over. Would've saved you a fortune and had a wee trip as well!

                          irishRob

Unfurtunatly its not that easy first of all i would have got i car with steering in the wrong side, and second og all i would still need to pay the 180% tax on it when getting it to Denmark.
All out Nabour countries like Germany and Sweeden have cheap cars to but as soon as you take them to DK and want to have Danish plates on them (can't even drive them in DK when it is registered outside DK and i live here) you'll need to pay the high tax.

Few years ago cars in DK where the cheapest in EU before the Tax, only so the buyers would get them, just a little cheaper, now its equal to other countries.

That is actually one of the reason you can se a lot of yellow plates (Vans with only two front seats and no rear seats) on cars in dk, because it only got two seats you only have to pay 95% tax on them (you can't do it with sportscars, it need to have at least 250liters of space in the boot). But then again you will have to pay nearly £1100 a year in road tax.

Its only a good deal with the more pricier cars like Seat Leon Cupra, Subaru WRX, Porche Cayenne and so on.

Seat Leon Cupra R: 48.167 GBP (439.900 DKK).
Seat Leon Cupra R Van: 30.878 GBP (282.000 DKK).
So as you can se we get near 18.000 GBP off just for letting the rear seat go. And yes its a wierd way the Danish car tax system works.

And it continues like that with all the cars (List prices from the dealers) :

                          C3 HDi 90 FAP Dynamique: 20.789 GBP
                          C3 HDI 90 Dynamique Van: 13.128 GBP

                          Porsche Cayenne S: 167.239 GBP
Porsche Cayenne S Van: 99.508 GBP

I had a 50% taxed car before my DS3 (before 2007 you only had to pay 50% tax on them), and i rebuild it to a 180% taxed car, because we found a now closed hole in the law that gave us a change to only pay like 80% tax and it.
(toke me 3month to complete it because the system is so messed up

                          50-95% tax Vans:

                          180% Tax

Well, that sucks fella. Essentially paying nearly double the amount as us for the same car. Ach well, you've got it now, enjoy it.

A Porsche Cayenne van!! I can just imagine Jeremy Clarkson's reaction.

I wonder if it would get by Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs as an allowable business expense (strictly for deliveries only, of course!)
