  • Introducing myself!

    Hi all!

Just signed up to the site after browsing as a guest for a few months whilst looking for the right car, but as of earlier this week I am the excited new owner of a black 2010 DS3 THP Dsport!

It's my second car, and having only ever driven the old banger Fiesta I learnt to drive in, the new Citroen is putting a big smile on my face. I have plans to eventually stage 1 remap the car, and possibly an exhaust system to add a little growl, but in the meantime I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone on the forum, as I'm sure I'll be in need of some of you guys advice along the road!

Anything I should know straight of the bat I'd love to hear?

    Cheers, Brandon

Welcome along! I mean there is some stuff you should probably be prepared for, but do you want it all at once or just enjoy the car and hear about the stuff if you have a problem?

        Cheers guys!

Well maybe I should leave it all as a surprise for as and when the problems emerge - more exciting that way? haha

One thing you should look up straight away is walnut blasting. I'm going to guess the car hasn't ever had it done and the intake valves will be disgusting by now. It's a maintenance measure for every 20-30k miles which Citroen don't actually offer, so you have to go private otherwise your engine will struggle to breathe and if chunks of carbon break off from the deposits, it could cause a lot of damage.

Cars got just under 40k miles and I'm pretty sure it's never been blasted - will definitely look at getting that done ASAP, thanks!

Welcome to the club and welcome to the club . The 2010 thp's 150 are nutorious for breaking down... I have one and it's still giving me headaches. Non the less, we're all on the same page and happy to help if any problems come up. Hope you boughed a T25 torx screwdriver as it will allow you to disassemble 80% of the car. For the other 20% you'll need a mechanic.
Not to worry tho, there fun cars, if they work they are great !

                Welcome !

You had any particular issues I could think about sorting out before they crop up? And I'll be sure to pick up a T25 torx

Timing, clogged valves, etc. Check my posts and you'll find out. I have been quiet for a while as it's to cold in the garage to work. Will be starting again as soon as my 3d printer is finished spitting out the parts for the oil catch can setup i have in mind. Will be around the same time as i redo the timing, valve cover leak, etc...
