New owner - windscreen demister issue

Hello! I am new to the forum and a relatively new owner of a DS3!
I have a 2016 1.6 blue hdi which I have been loving so far. The problem I have is with the windscreen demister. It only seems to work if I have the demister button on which is auto AC or if I have the AC on through the heating system. On cold and rainy days I am having to sit in a freezing cold car because I can’t have the heating on! Is this normal? I have tried air recirculation on and off and it makes no difference. I have had other cars and this has never been an issue. I love my car otherwise and this is just frustrating.

I would suggest leaving the car running at home for a while with the heat blasting on the windscreen to clear it. I find that after using A/C it steams up more when you try not using A/C, which is frustrating.

If even after blasting the heat (and kind of getting the screen used to the heat I guess) you're still having problems check the seal around the windscreen, if there's a leak letting moisture in it'll be a nightmare. My dad had that issue before and got his screen replaced and sealed properly.
