  • The Manaslu Circuit Trek

The Manaslu Circuit Trek is a popular and strenuous hiking route in Nepal, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of snow-covered mountains, natural forests, and traditional villages. Its name is derived from the eighth highest peak in the world, Mount Manaslu, and takes hikers through diverse landscapes, including dense green forests, terraced fields, high mountain passes, and glaciers.

Starting from Arughat, the trail follows the Budi Gandaki River valley, where travelers can experience local life in various villages and explore ancient monasteries. Upon reaching the Larkya La Pass, standing at 5,160 meters above sea level, hikers can enjoy the stunning scenery before descending to the Marsyangdi Valley and concluding the journey in Besisahar.

Typically, the trek takes 15 to 20 days, depending on the itinerary and pace, and the best time to attempt it is from September to November or March to May when the weather is mild and clear, providing excellent views.

However, the Manaslu Circuit Trek demands a good level of physical fitness and prior experience in high-altitude hiking due to the challenging and strenuous trail. It is highly recommended to hire a guide and porter who can provide guidance, carry equipment, and offer local knowledge.
