New to ds3 but had a test drive today and ordering one tomorrow hopefully

Hello everyone - im Nick from Brighton , just about to sign on the dotted line for a ds3 d sport plus after much deliberation and a test drive today - ive also got a disco 2 which i need for its seven seats and winter capabilities as well as luxuries and i have spent a lot of money and time prepping it for offroad excursions which i do quite regularly

ill be keeping the disco but also getting a new ds3 d sport plus for general running around in as the mpg figures for a d2 laden with metal protection underneath are not pretty ie 20 mpg round town and 30mpg on a run so the ds3 is a no brainer for me for use as a general runaround as some weeks im doing £250pw on fuel in the disco.

on the test drive today the ds3 felt good to drive , had a few gadgets i didnt know about and overall i loved it - think im going for a white one with plain black roof without decals as they have one in stock at the main dealers and i am hoping to get it asap

slight bit of paperwork to overcome atm so may have to wait till october at worst but hoping to get in one asap

im a moderator on a very busy d2 forum and we do loads of meets and offroad days etc so hoping to scan these pages for all the juicy info on ds3 as i will be getting one in the very near future - ill try not to ask too many dumb questions but ,,,,,

Welcome to the club Nick. You'll find most of us love our DS3's although the way these forums tend to work you'll find people complaining about aspects of their cars rather than biggin them up. We've all come to our DS3's via different paths a good thread to look at and add to is this one. This is my second Citroen and the first time I've bought 2 cars from the same manufacturer ( I don't count my first Escort as I only had it a few months before buying my RS Turbo ) As you're from Brighton why not pop along on Sunday and meet up with some of us, we'll be at the Old Steine from midday, check this thread for details.

Why Would You Have To Wait Until October If It's There In Stock ???

picking one up as a motability car and their regs mean you need to be 5 years clear of a ban to get the insurance , went up this afternoon and applied as im not far off the time required but unfortunately they wouldnt / couldnt do a work around re the insurance so i do have to wait till October which is a bit disappointing but not the end of the world

certainly have looked at every other vehicle out there and nothing else floats my boat or ticks the required boxes quite like the ds3 d sport plus so im an owner in waiting so to speak

just going to have a read of the thread about the Brighton meet at the old steine ,, it will be hard to park round there this weekend as it is being a bank holiday and theres already a funfair set up down there and also the world famous "ladyboy circus" so i can imagine its going to be pretty hectic

look forward to meeting some of you maybe and if anyone wants to whizz me round the block in a thp and try and convert me from the eco diesel to a nippy version that would be good as i havent tried a petrol one yet

yup still going for it - nothing new has appeared that ticks all the boxes anywhere near the ds3 tbh ,, had a quick look at the new peugeot but silly deposits killed that thought plus tbh it doesnt really look anything special - twas just the built in ipad that caught my eye
