Hi all
I am here in Melbourne and a lover of French cars. I have had six which is unusual here in Oz where Citroen in particular hasn't got much profile/acceptance. I am a bit of a francophile as well - what's not to like about good food and wine?
My project is to put together a Racing look a like here. We can't privately import here unless you personally own a car for 12 months overseas and the distributor won't bring them in because of the cost of homologation for a small market. Well, South Africa and New Zealand get Racings so what the hell is really going on?
So, we started with a 120 Style for my wife late last year and she loves it.
I am into the black/orange so am looking to get a used black to convert. I am starting on parts even before I have got the car - right keen!
Needless to say i am a keen reader of the posts here. I have taken note of a lot of the info, particularly for engine exhaust mods. You blokes are a great resource for the remote and the unmechanical.
With help form John Nicol, I mean to start with the external cosmetics - wheels and carbon and paint roof, grill and mirrors and then go to a cat back, panel filter and some Forge. Second stage is a remap and associated upgrades. Stage 3 is Racing seats or Peugeot 207 GTI if I have Skittso's luck in finding some here.
I hope to have a lot of fun doing it - and get a great car to boot.
David
