What's £30? - Nought when you've bought a new car! Go and get it mate, be the first to drive it (mine had 4 miles on it when I collected, clearly factory 'test' miles)....

Make a day out of it, stop at a lovely pub for a pub lunch on the way home......stare at it whilst you eat in the pub....

Steve's a nice chap too so you can meet him and it will be him showing you round the car (unless he's on holiday as he was when I collected mine!)....

Well my reasoning was that it will likely need half a tank to get down here, plus the guys time and £30 train fare home...

Had another update from dealer today... Car should be into them today/tomorrow at the latest... So all being well, I could be driving the car this weekend/early next week

Don't forget you can get 7 days free insurance through Citroen, unless you're just going to transfer your current insurance. When I got my Racing last year my insurance company at the time wouldn't touch it, so I made use of the free 7 day cover then went with Admiral.

Yeh, debating that currently... Part of me thinks it makes sense to cancel my current policy, and take out a new one on the new car so that the renewal dates follow...

I know other insurance companies will be different, I was with More Th>n before I got my Racing and was 7 months 1 week into a policy when I cancelled because they wouldn't insure the Racing!!! I received a cheque for 1/3 of my premium iirc

Yeh, defo need to find out from Elephant... As all the quotes i've been doing against DS3 for a new policy are coming out cheaper than I'm currently paying for month... However when I asked for a quote to amend the current policy, they want another £140!!!

Luckily am only a couple of months into the policy, and pay monthly...

So they want to INCREASE my premium for the new car, even though on a new policy, with the same company, I can get it cheaper!!!
And then to cancel, they want a £45 admin charge, plus £5 per addon product, plus fees for Days on Cover So either a £145 premium increase, or £70 to pay the policy off

When I sorted out my car insurance at the beginning of the year my broker told me that it will be a bit more expensive as, in his words, "Tits don't count"!

What he was referring to was the new sexual equality law hitting insurance companies later this year, most of them have already raised their prices to 'smooth' the transition.

Lol... Interestingly, Diamond is the second cheapest quote for the DS3...

Bugs me that they're not even prepared to talk about the increase in costs because i'm 'Mid-way through the policy'...

Lets see what they say if I cancel the policy and go to someone else...

Finance paperwork went back yesterday and all approved today.

Car's also with the dealer now ready to be PDI'd and Valeted... Now I just gotta decide when to go and get it
