  • Hello

Only just found this club so thought that I would say 'hello' to all of you !

I have had my DS3 for about 2 years now and love it! Its a DSport THP in yellow and black with a remap on it by flash remapping which makes it bloody quick compared to my old car!

Just put a couple up, just a stock DS3 apart from the remap.

Want to get some black bellone alloys for it though!

Depending on where you are and what service you want the prices vary quite a bit.

I've had a full set of tyres removed, rims dipped and stripped, powder coated, then tyres refitted and balanced for about £200, yet other places insist on having bare wheels and can do them from around £1 per inch plus VAT

I'm down in East Sussex and this is the only local company I can find!

They would remove them, dip and strip the rims, powder coat them, diamond cut them so that they have a silver edge like the standard black bellone alloys, refit and balance them.

So I guess its quite a good price I guess considering you paid near enough the same.

But it would take them 3-4 working days thats the only thing that has stopped me so far!

Thanks for your help Are you planning any mods for your DS3?

Seems about right. 3-4 days is pretty standard. Having a spare set of wheels to ride around on helps!

As for my car, I've modified every car I've ever owned in one way or another (some more extreme than others) but this will be staying boggo for now apart from a remap as it's the wife's shopping trolley!

Yeah I didn't expecct it to be any quicker, but need it for work etc so will have to book it in for when I go on holiday

Yeah I saw your saxo which looked brilliant!

Who you getting the remap done by? What do they reckon they can get the horsepower up by?

My Black Bellones are in the shed!
You know what BHP and torque you are getting from your map- Dave at Flash werent it? Any problems or all good?

Hey Andrew! Mine's a 59 plate THP as well, hows the engine and remap faring for you? Considering remapping mine, but scared if this will make it go wrong. I had my fair share of the THP problems, but touch wood it's been OK for the last year (8,000 miles).

                            Hi Chris,

Near Hastings, So not too far away.

Powder coating part of them red sounds cool, I wanted to get the silver bits on a standard black bellone alloys and have them yellow but the company said they couldn't do it

It had the remap put on it just before I bought it (It was an ex-demo) I don't know the torque but around 200BHP !

The only problem so far has been a stretched timing chain but that wasn't caused by the remap and some new ignition coils but apart from that its been fine and its actually better on fuel economy then some of the other ones I have driven without the remaps

                              Hi Pat,

I really like the remap, It feels a lot more lively (just got to watch the tyres! lol) and I get a better fuel economy so I think it has paid for itself.

Also it hasn't affected the warranty which I did worry about.

Yeah it has been ok, had one timing chain done at about 6,000 miles but since then (2 years, 20k miles) it had been fine until monday when it had the anti-pollution fault and engine management light (on sunday when filling up the screen wash I noticed oil around the spark plugs but thought nothing of it) drove it to the garage (drove fine not limp home mode).

Turned out to be 3 ignition coils had gone, got them replaced under warranty and is back to normal again "touch wood" (the oil around the spark plugs is a normal occurance apparently)
