Newbie from West Lothian, just ordered a DS Sport Plus 155 THP today

Hi, i've just done something today I said I'd never do, i bought a French car! Always been a BMW/Audi guy and my current car is a cracking little Mini Cooper S. Now needing something slightly bigger and more comfortable for longer drives for work I was ready to buy a new Audi A1. However I'd noticed a few great looking DS's so thought i'd pay a visit to the dealer this morning. WOW Citroen have really upped their game since I was a lad and the AX and BX flimsy tin cans were new. I test drove a 120Vti which was a bit slow but I loved how the car looked, was pleasantly surprised by the build quality and have completely changed my mind about current Citroens. So much so that i decided I NEEDED a THP 155 Sport Plus in my life and paid my deposit for one today (white, black roof & wheels). Hopefully the performance will be similar to my Cooper S and I don't regret breaking my French virginity at 42 years of age!

Hey, so when is your DS3 going to be delivered ? I doubt it will be boring compared to the Cooper S but you could always have it remapped like a lot of folks on the forum have done..... SP Tuning in the Hinckley is well recommended but might be a little far for you

THP155 down on power compared to the Cooper S but it will still hold its own any day! More room, more comfort, and more style too.

Hi thanks for the warm welcome guys. Car was within group stock in a storage compound down South somewhere and they reckon it will be up in the dealer by the end of this week. However I'll be in the US til the some time next week, so I should have it a week on Saturday.
One thing I noticed on the test drive of the 120 Vti was that the steering was incredibly light compared to my Cooper S with a lot less feedback, so I'm hoping the 155 THP may have a bit more weight to it. The Citroen definitely feels better built than the Mini and a lot more compliant ride than the rock hard Mini on runflats, but i will miss that lovely supercharged whine.

Yes although the THP is slightly down on power I think the performance figures are very similar. Definitely more room & comfort as you say and I need to admit that Citroen are building some great looking and desirable (never thought I'd ever say that!) cars these days.

And I too was a Citroen virgin till i seen the little ds3 loved the look and the different colours till 1 day i decided fk it im gettin one & to be honest i havn't looked back
so enjoy yours when you get it :cool:
OH BTW you might want to read up on some of the cleaning technics about washing your car in the car care & cleaning section some realy good tips from our head of cleaning CliveP
washing with sponges and shammies are a BAD word on here
