  • New Owner.......Almost

Just wanted to introduce myself and say hi.

Been a lurker for a while now whilst deciding on which car to buy but thought since I placed my order at the end of march and got my "it's here" call off the dealer yesterday I would register.

I say almost as I cant collect it yet as:

    1. I thought a factory order would take longer than 6 weeks
    &
    2. I stupidly have't taken my private reg off my current car yet (although admittedly I spent most of April getting married and honeymooning) which the DVLA told me yesterday can take up to 6 weeks. Sent the forms off today so I'm going to have to wait a while. frustrating as I know it's there waiting for me

    Anyway

Looking forward to meeting you all.

    Cheers, Stu.

Welcome - why can't you collect the DS3 on it's current new reg ? Did the dealer not arrange for this as they thought you would have your cherished plate to go straight onto it ?

          Thanks.

It's the DSport THP 155 in Ruby Red with Black roof and the city signature pack fitted. I'll post some pics when I've collected it.

I'm part exchanging my current car and they can't accept it until I've removed the private reg, and since they can't take my old car I can't have the shiny new one :P

Has your dealer never heard of a V55 before???

If he has he's keeping quiet. But then again I haven't heard of one either. He's left it up to me to sort out the plate transfer.

Hi Stu, and welcome, on the first read of your post, i was trying to work out why the DVLA told you it could take up to 6 weeks to get married and have a honeymoon, when i thought you could easily do it in 2 or 3 weeks, ha ha, then i re read it and noticed the brackets .
enjoy the car mate, and congrats on getting married.

Thank you - Hopefully it will take about that long for me too. I guess it just depends how many applications they currently have to process. 6 weeks is worst case scenario......hopefully.

My concern was that he thought getting married and having a honeymoon was more important than getting his new DS3. (Its a slippery slope, mate).

Seriously.. congrats on the marriage, I'm sure the car will be great when you get it.
