Newbie looking to get a DS3

Hi,

Just joined, as looking to get a DS3 for my partner. I'm looking to get her a DSport (this is the top of the range, right?) I understand that there's a pack which includes sat nav and leather which I'd like to get. What is the preferred engine in this spec?

Congrats on your first post. I have the 120 VTi but I believe the newer petrol 155THP is the one to get for speed thrills as it pulls like a train. The diesel is 110 bhp. A member on here called Bigfeet is the man to contact re specs as he actually works for Citroen.

if you got the money the Ultra Prestige. otherwise go for the DSport Plus and get the Emyway Signature (Satnav etc)

It'll be a second hand car I'm looking at, maybe a 2010. I've seen a rather nice looking black and orange one on Pistonheads but its miles away from me.

That would be one of the racing version by the sound of it!

If you are looking for a 2010 version then it will be either a 150THP or the 110HDi diesel engine that would be fitted. The leather and Sat Nav were both options at that point too but many cars were fitted with this spec. Bear in mind that the MyWay Sat Nav in those early models wasn't compatible with USB but was still fitted with the AUX socket.

The one on PH is a 110 diesel with the racing wheels, 10 plate and 24500 miles. Its up at £10795. Is that about the right price for the car?

I'm quite a dinosaur nowadays with all the tech, whats the difference between the USB and AUX socket other than the shape of the connection, is it the functionality?

If you're looking at a 2010 model you'd be best sticking to the diesels as some of the early THP petrol models had some issues, a search here will tell you more.

AUX socket is basically the cigarette lighter type socket, USB socket is the same that you find on computers/laptops to plug memory sticks into.

The AUX socket is a small jack type socket that enables you to plug in (say) an MP3 player, to play it through the car's radio. It sits under a flap similar to the one that hides the 12v power socket (that is the 'cigarette lighter type' socket, but without the plug in lighter) right next to it.
