  • New Dsport diesel 115 bhp

    Hi all!

I get my new D sport 115bhp diesel in 2 days and I can't wait! I'm wondering if anyone has any advice for me? Never had a diesel before. Do I need to take it easy the first so many miles? Car is brand new.... Anything I should be aware of straight away... Any general advice or chat welcome! Anyone else got one that loves it? Cheers! Can't wait! Chris

    Don't put petrol in it....!

My advice would be to take it easy for the first couple of days to give the engine a chance to settle a bit and the brakes to bed in as well. Other than that just go out and enjoy the car, don't forget that we love pictures here!

Fast enough mate, to be honest flat line speed never interested me as the roads near me are more about handling and having a blast through the countryside

Hi Chris .... I dropped from a 2L clio sport to the 1.6THP DS3 and its not bothered me. Still fast enough and a pleasure to drive. Plus much better on fuel which was the key reason for downsizing on the engine.

I hope you enjoy your DS3 and look forward to seeing the pictures

Ah rite! Thanks! That's one of the main reasons I've gone for this.... Saving on the fuel! Well there shall be loads of pictures come Friday... What's the stereo like I've heard there's a built in sub in the boot? I'm more interested in good quality sound rather than just loud

I always found the stereo to be really good, Clarkson made the comment on Top Gear that it was one of the best he had ever heard as well!

There is a sub hiding in the boot on the right hand side behind the cover and a vocal centre speaker mounted on the top of the dashboard.

I have the same model and love it, not a serious criticism I can level at it..... Power is great even coming from an Astra SRi 1.9 CDTi and its so much fun to drive, I literally give it a heavy right foot 90% of the time with AC on all the time and still get average mpg of 54-58 (latter after motorways)

All that and free road tax !
