  • Hello: New to DS3s - wife getting an 'Orla'

    Hi

New to the DS3 club/forum and new to DS3s (in fact I think this will be the first Citroen in the household).

Quick story... Mrs Higs wanted to change her car (a hateful, joyless Renault Megane), did a load of reading and narrowed it down to either a Fiesta or a DS3. So... we went to a dealership with both to look - not with a view to buying on the day - just to make up her mind on which of the two to start looking at seriously.

Anyway, there's a DS3 Orla Kiely on the front and her eyes drop out. To this point I am completely unaware of the name 'Orla Kiely' but vaguely aware the pattern on the roof of the car is similar to (a) the coffee pot and sugar bowl in the kitchen at home and (b) one of her handbags.

To cut a long story short, she's picking it up on Monday.

So we haven't even got it yet but I've joined up - she doesn't 'do' forums.

Now from what little reading I've done so far, I can see that the OK design divides opinion on here. That's kind of irrelevant though as she loves it. Aside from that, what do I need to know? So far I've investigated:
    • refilling the air freshener
    • remapping the 90HDi (not going to bother as, frankly, the less power she has under her right foot, the better for all concerned
    • 3D rear lights (not sure they're a good look on the OK)

        Wilmslow, eh?

Mrs Higs' DS3 will live in Macclesfield but commute to Risley most days. She has a number of different routes to work depending on time of day etc but often goes through Wilmslow (or along Bonis Hall Lane) to pick up the M56 at the airport.

I'll keep an eye out and wave if I see her

              Hi and welcome

Some love it, some hate it. Who cares - your wife loves it!

I work at Macc Town Hall so I will look out for it.

If you did get the remap it does make it even more fuel efficient, also I would say safer on the motor way for over taking

                      Welcome

Think you've got it all covered. Air freshener is easy, on ebay think the C4 Picasso are exactly the same.

The 3D lights are a big hit with lots of people, all personal taste really. Only thing I would say is the Orla already has quite a lot of details that other ds3's don't. So not sure if it would make it too fussy and have too much going on.

                      I work in Wilmslow also

Welcome to the Club! Hope Mrs Higs enjoys her DS3 as much as the rest of us! I am yet to see an OK in person over here in Northern Ireland!
