  • Detailing Wax Ideas

    Morning all,

As always, here at Power Maxed we value our consumers opinions, and want to develop our products to the best standard.

We are looking at introducing a range of waxes to the Power Maxed collection, this is in the early stages of development, but we would value your opinions on what you want.

Thank you for reading, We look forward to your comments.

    Kind regards,

    Wayne

For me personally it comes down to cost, ease of use/application and of course results. We want the world but for less money, crack that and you're sorted

Seriously though if it is a product that can be applied by hand and achieve great looking results whilst protecting the car and making my next clean easier then all the better. If I have to pay a bit more for something that makes my life easier and save money further down the line then that gets my vote.

The old saying I tend to live by as much as possible is "buy cheap, you buy twice!"

    Cheers

First and foremost I don't want a wax that costs a fortune to buy. In my experience, a wax such as Autoglym HD is as effective as a wax costing 3-5 times more.
I am not interested in 6-12 months or 1-2 years protection as this is just marketing rubbish. Show or give me a wax that after 2 months still beads water like the day it was applied then I'm a happy man. A Power Maxed Quick Detailer could "top up" the protection and remove dust.

Give me a wax that is easy on (prefer a hard wax as opposed to a liquid wax or a paste), is quick to cure and is easy off with no dust.

Extras in your range that I would like to see are a QD, decent microfibre cloths, colour changing fallout decontamination remover, and maybe a hybrid sealant along the lines of Sonax NPT. Oh and a signed poster of grid girl Gem Newman wouldn't go amiss either😉

Can I ask what you think the benefits of a hard wax of a liquid wax is?

IMO a hard/paste wax is more durable than a liquid wax.

I use a liquid to polish the car, now I don't want another liquid to wax the car. Probably psychological.

As far as i'm aware, a hard wax will last longer, as you only need a swipe of the container per panel (usually) as opposed to the liquid variant which will spread easier, but will not last as long in the bottle as you tend to use more of it.

It's all about personal choice as in anything.

For me - it's all about how long it lasts. I don't mind paying a bit extra if the shine is still there say 2 weeks later and makes it easier to wash! I have so many products that have promised the earth and not delivered that honesty would be a great marketing tool!!! Happy to try some for you

Ummm let me think, i would like a hard wax as well with a good dollop of Carnauba in there, something that is easy to apply but you can leave it on for ages without the worry of not being able to buff it off, as with Andy i hate waxes that can add to the Sahara with all the dust they produce, oh and how about something that can be applied in direct sunlight, a wax that lasts a couple of months would do for me as i am always cleaning my car and can be applied by hand.

Great thank you guys... so the points raised so far (apart from the extras from andy)
                • Easy On / Off
                • Quick Cure Time
                • No "Sahara" Dust
                • Hard Wax, Rather than Liquid
                • Shine (After 2+ Weeks)
                • Use in Direct Sunlight
                • Cheapish / Not too Expensive

Our thoughts were to start with 4 waxes (along with a limited edition).

This looks like a good start, will your levels of wax be determined by the amount of carnauba in them?

I'd be interested in a high temp wheel sealant/wax
