  • Gutted - swirls galore!

I've had my car about 16 months now and even before I bought it I had been reading these forums on the cleaning processes to prevent swirls & marks etc and all had been going so well.

Today unfortunately and with best intent my mother who was borrowing my car decided to thank me buy getting it washed. She simply took it to a hand wash place and now its ruined. I have swirls all over the car and with it being black I can't see anything but these horrible marks.

Has anybody got any ideas how to remove them or am I going to have to get a full machine polish/detail to get them off?
If so can anyone recommend a good company to use in the north west - warrington/Manchester area?

Any help would be much appreciated

    Ta Damo

Can be done by hand, but it is hard work. Take a look at my recent thread for details:

As Soran says it can be done by hand with certain products but it is extremely hard work. Much easier to use a machine which these pictures effectively prove:

^Top half of picture corrected, bottom half not^

Correction of swirls on boot spoiler:

        After

            Thanks for the replies guys.

Soran - that hand finish looks decent and you have got rid of the swirls. Would you recommend those products you have used/pads?

If i were to buy a machine polisher are they relatively easy to use? Or does it take a bit of training - don't want to make it any worse than it already is now.

Also are there any recommended machines/products/brands to use from those who do this a lot, rabbidracoon? I've a had a brief look and there seems to be quite a variation in cost etc

            Also who's andy? lol

            Thanks again

Ah cool - what type did you go for jimbob? Trying to decide if its worth buying one and then I can learn & do it when needed or pay for a company to detail it - which is looking about £300 :-(

I got the DAS6 Pro as recommended by Andy (see his posts above).
I'm sure he could fit you in for a machine polish if you asked him. He really knows what he is doing and should be better than paying out £300! Alternatively wait till I know what I am doing and visit me. Can't praise Andy enough though - he is totally OCD
