I'm sure your dealer 'did the job', just these products don't offer anymore (in my opinion) and you're probably experiencing that - for them to even a bit effective they need time to cure and dealers don't often give that time - they are very high margin products. If a dealer can sell gap insurance, finance and superguard type products they probably over double their profit on the car sale!
However, never fear, you've got a lovely car and it's easy to get decent products to make it look good and to protect it at more than reasonable prices.
