  • CliveP Enhancement Detail on my Citroen DS3 DSport Plus THP155 (Pics)

As some of you may know, CliveP knows quite a bit about cleaning cars. He very kindly offered to do an enhancement detail on my DS3 and after seeing a few of his posts on here (and on Detailing World) I jumped at the chance.

I've put the full album on Flickr if you want to see everything (141 photos). The photos were only taken with my phone so apologies if some of them are a bit blurry.

Below are a few photos to see the process and the results. I'll give a quick description of what I remember but I'm sure if you have any questions about anything that's going on in the pictures, Clive would be happy to answer them. He was a fountain of knowledge and was happy to answer any questions I had on the day.

    Aw, twins. Bless!

    Looks awesomely shiny. Great job.

Trouble is, if I ever managed to get mine that clean & shiny (fat chance!), I wouldn't want to drive it for fear of getting it dirty.

Yeah I nearly cried on the way home, I swear every bug was blinded by the shininess and committed suicide on the bonnet and windscreen

            Patrick,

Glad you were pleased with it! I can only just about get an enhancement detail in 9-10 hours! Mind you we did stop for an ice cream and the famous doorstep sandwich!

Gar and Andy - Thanks glad you like it.

We found a few marks around the boot area that the inspection lamp revealed, so I initially had to hit this with a stronger polish and pad, but soon sorted, then refined out with a nice low cut and high gloss polish!

Was a great day, keep meeting great people from this forum, must be something to do with the type of drivers DS3s attract!

Appreciate the comments, nice to see the feedback!

            Regards,
            Clive.

Would honestly love to have this done, The drive from Clives back home to mine would make it dirty again

                    Glad you like it Zack.

Within my 'training' I'd show you how to get it back to the same condition in about 30 mins (I can do mine quick in about 15...), then if you want to do things like the 'trim' etc you might need a bit longer. It's all in the 'prep' - if the paintwork has been prepped properly (the polishing, which is why I use a machine to chase perfection), and then a decent sealant or wax applied, then it really is quick to get it back again...

The side by side pics illustrate this - mine was 20 minutes effort (I was still washing it as Patrick arrived) - Patrick's is after about nine hours of effort - now that that is done, like I say it won't take him long to get it back to this standard.

Mine was machined over 12 months ago now - yes I do spend several hours sometimes tinkering with it, as I love it, and I like to try different wax or sealants combinations, but it really doesn't need to be a big effort each week once the correct prep is done....

                    Regards,
                    Clive.

                        Chris,

That's AB Bubblegum Trim - but the trick is to make sure you clean the tyre well first - people often apply tyre dressings over dirty tyres, so they don't tend to look as good. So give the tyre wall a good clean first during the wheel cleaning process....

I like AB Bubblegum Trim, there's some others that are good - but you do have to watch for 'sling' which is where the tyre dressing causes spots on the paintwork when you drive......Some dressings last longer than others but I have taken a liking for Bubblegum Trim recently.

                        Regards,
                        Clive.

                        Regards,
                        Clive.

Many Thanks Quazzo - yours could look that clean, but it would mean a whole day with me! Starting to lose the light now as well so my detailing hobby days are having to get shorter!
