Sounds like you'd get on well with CliveP. I'm sure he'd wash his every day if he had the time, lol.

I normally do mine every weekend, simply because at this time of year it's dark by the time I'm home and it takes a few hours to do it properly.

I wash my DS 2-3 times a month that is weather and light depending, i have only polished by hand once, i have had the car since march last year.

I try and wax once a month using AG HD wax or CG XXX wax, if i dont wax I quite often will use AG aqua quick detailing wax.

Clive will be your man on anything on cleaning

There's no "should"; it's up to you!

Mine's two & a half years old. I've polished it once - it still looks good. Cleaning? When it's mucky!

Steve! Welcome! Good man! You sure you want to walk the OCD path?

I do detailing purely as a hobby but now find myself fully booked on details (if I want them), I love 'proper' detailing, no sponges, no leathers, removing swirl marks from cars (showroom cars are way below standard to me, but of course are fine for 99.9% of the population).... I also train in detailing... it is not what I do for a living.... as above there's no 'should' it's whatever you want to enjoy (I don't get drinking but accept 99% of the population find it enjoyable!)....
I've done a couple of guys cars on here, including BeefMasta's I'll let him tell you if he thought it was worth it....

But for your potential enjoyment, please enjoy:

This one I did with one of my best mates for a show:

Whilst I don’t have any real ‘close up’ macro shots of my own work (I’m too interested concentrating rather than photography!), you’ll find examples in Detailing World in the ‘Studio’ section (where the pros display their work) of 50/50 shots showing the swirl marks that are removed and whilst you don’t see them in daylight, they quite simply rob your paintwork of depth of reflection (I’m a pain in the rear to a car salesman as I can spot the swirls a mile off, and they look at me in wonder, lol).

I also help with some ‘basics’ training, just so you have some background info…there’s lots of people who don’t get how easy it is to put swirls in cars and how to (largely) prevent them in the first place:

                Agenda here:
                http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=277256

Pictures here: (same thread after the course):
                http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/foru...=277256&page=3

We’ve run this course quite a few times with anything from 5 to 12 attendees, always with positive feedback – not suggesting you need this, just wanted you to understand my interest!

Let me know if you're tempted!, not for the course, but for the bug!

                Regards,
                Clive.

Alas, I cannot wash my car today because of the weather - my pressure washer is safely in the dining room (to keep her warm, don't want her breaking due to ice forming internally!)...

I have a therapy session at 3pm to help me get through not being able to wash here this weekend, lol

MY DS3 hasn't moved off the drive since Thursday, been using my 4x4...

                      Regards,
                      Clive.

clean mine once a week. spooky how often i finish cleaning my pride and joy only for it to rain within the hour. even my neighbours have noticed, got told off one thanks for letting me know its going to rain soon. within 30 mins it was pouring down.

the neighbours have nicknamed my car jonah.

Would clean mine more, but it's always raining or dark or both /sigh. So needs a good clean inside and out and a wax.
